Why Flanders
Flanders has a dire need for more social housing: in 2022, there were over 176.000 people on the waiting list to receive social housing. According to the Flemish living code, it is expected that almost 50.000 new social housing units must be built by 2025 in order to keep up with demand. And while more social housing has been built, the fact remains that there are more families waiting for housing than there is housing available.
The average household will wait over 1.200 days on the waiting list before receiving social housing in Flanders. With most municipalities unable to meet the set goal of 15% social housing availability, ToGather Homes’ aims to address this challenge in a sustainable and efficient manner.
This is why we have chosen Flanders as our initial market. Interested in learning more about our connection to Flanders? Get in touch with us.
